Mother's Day for me is usually very very blah. And that always makes me so mad. So, being the big baby that I am, I usually spend the day sulking and jealous of everyone else in the whole world but me.
But not this year!! YAHOO!!
The kids have been talking about Mother's Day nonstop for at least a week! I feel so special! It's like I've had another birthday this year without having to get any older! The kids have had "things" hidden around in their rooms with strict instructions to "not move the orange hat on the dresser." and to "not look in the window behind the closed blinds." Quite honestly, I have obeyed, and quickly replaced the objects that were hiding things, if I happened to accidently stumble upon them. It has been so fun! Aaliyah made fun things at school & church, and Paul made fun things at church. Yesterday I went to a vacant house in our neighborhood and cut myself about 2 dozen beautiful pink roses. And then, Friday night, there was the Beyond Charming Jewelry party that I hosted that was too much fun! (friends, chocolate fountain, making jewelry, and lots of laughter!) Oh, and breakfast in bed this morning, and an omelet before church, and I got to lay in bed this morning and read some of my book, the kids have been on their best behavior (I could get totally used to that!)... I feel totally pampered and loved!
Paul wanted to know when "Brother's Day" is so that he can have his own special day too...
My answer: "Not this week, bud. Dad's birthday is Friday, so maybe after that."
Happy Mother's Day to you!
