Summer vacation

Aw, how I love me some summer...and when you throw a vacation in too, That's my idea of fun! This year, the kids and I went to see my family for a while. 3 weeks to be exact. It was amazing! For the first time in a long long time, I found myself really loving the small town feel... minus the times when I was shopping for something specific and couldn't find it ANYWHERE!!

So, here's the rundown of our awesome activities!! We saw our favorite cousins, rafted the Green River, camped in the same place that we did when I was 5 &6 years old- my kids got to play in the same stream I used to play in and climb and hike the rocks that I l.o.v.e.d. to play on.We crafted and made more hair "pretties" then I care to mention, we saw a parade...We enjoyed panoramic views of endless fireworks- despite the drizzle of rain- all thanks to the new law that ok'd the outlawed fireworks... oh, and the countless people that spent their months wages buying said fireworks... (thanks, by the way).

We "helped" Grandpa irrigate.... but decided to put all that water to a better use...
After all, it could just be considered "multi-tasking."then, I got to go "play" with my Dad. For the past few years, he's been involved in a shooting club. And old-fashioned-cowboy kinda shooting club. We practiced taking out a few "Evil Roy"s... and then I got to play "cow-girl" with him. The guns are pre-1900's manufactured (a requirement of the club) and we're supposed to dress the part... Ummm. Ya, was is my first time wearing a cowboy hat and wranglers.... but, the fun part was, that in 90 seconds, I shot 24 rounds of ammo with a shot gun, a rifle, and two pistols. I was the only person that day, to not miss any targets. ("Clean shoot"). It was a day for the journal! I out-shot my Dad!!

Did I happen to mention how much I love summer vacation??!!
