Savoring the summer...

So, about that goal of mine to make the last days of summer amazing.... um... well....

Tuesday, the kids wanted to play with friends - nonstop- all day. So they got their wish.
Day 2? Success. Check.

Wednesday? Ah, Wednesday. Ya, in SO many ways it wasn't the greatest day of my life. See, Tuesday night, I found a sprinkler pipe that was leaking a little bit... Enough that it needed to be fixed. No worries. My great friend, Jess, is a sprinkler whiz. One call to her and I had back-up to help me get it fixed first thing in the morning on Wednesday. One thing led to another, and every time we thought we had the problem fixed, it would break again- further up the line. UGH!!! Anywho, 4 breaks later (and almost 12 hours) I had water again. Ya. Wednesday, the kids were lucky enough to get to go to McDonald's for breakfast. They also got to play with my camera and take as many random pictures as they wanted...(there are some great ones! Paul jumping off Aaliyah's bed. Yep. On film. BUSTED! But he made up for it by doing the "Chicken Dance" frame by frame. Totally worth a good laugh!) That was about it. As for me? I had one of those "ah-ha" moments (No, not the 80's band, the other kind) when I sat back and counted my blessing for having such great neighbors and friends. They were there for me when I was in need. I am so blessed!!!
Day 3? Success? Close enough.

Thursday. Day 4. Perfect!! We headed over to the community rec center. I took a book & the kids had the time of their lives! I soaked in some sun and they swam their hearts out! Aaliyah found a friend from school...I tried to swim with my 2 kids and her 2 friends... but you know 2nd graders... Mom's are starting to not be the bees knees anymore.... a 3rd wheel. So, I got the hint, and let them swim solo with a constant check up every so often. :) See how nice I am?? We stayed until they were so tuckered out that they asked to go home.
Day 4? Absolute Success.

Friday. Day 5. Yep, we headed back to the pool at the rec center. SO happy to have a free 3 day pass! This time, we took friends! Friends that LIKE me hanging around them! HA~ take that 2nd graders!
Day 5? SUCCESS! I love my SUZ!

Saturday. Day 6. You guessed it! We totally headed back to the pool! :) With Suz and kids! I was actually sad when the clock said real time had to start soon & we had to leave so quickly. I'm pretty sure I could have successfully soaked up some rays. But the time we had was bliss. ;)
Day 6? Blissful success.

9 more days to go! At this rate, I'm going to be really grateful for school to start! All my "to-do's" are being put on the back burner and they're simmering!
